The 44th Congress of the Federation of European Biochemical Societies FEBS was held in Krakow, Poland, 6-11 July 2019.

Poland hosted this prestigious international event for the third time in history. The Congress was attended by 1800 scientists, young students of science and interested representatives of economic life from all over the world.

Founded on 1 January 1964, the Federation of European Biochemical Societies is one of the largest European organisations in the life sciences, with over 36,000 members affiliated to 35 national societies. The FEBS Congress featured inspiring plenary lectures by eminent scientists and a series of thematic symposia.

The event was an excellent opportunity to showcase new developments, gain professional knowledge and make new friends that could lead to effective scientific collaboration in the future.
